Much has changed on the summit since this photo was taken. The shingled Summit House has been replaced by the concrete-and-steel Sherman Adams Building, the old stage office/Observatory has been rebuilt, the summit water tank and the tiny Camden Cottage have long since been removed. The stone-walled TipTop House remains, though greatly refurbished. A figure can be seen near the Stage Office – a member of the Observatory staff?
